Kissaten, Jaya One, Petaling Jaya

It's been a long time since I found a really good non-sushi based Japanese restaurant. I've been introduced to Kissaten for my project team's appreciation dinner; and have been hooked on ever since! Having returning a few times since then, I find Kissaten really lives up to what it's famous for; their noodles and pork (love their pork especially).

Moonlight Udon Set - Dinner (RM21.80). The set itself comes with 5 pieces of delicious gyoza and a cup of green tea. It's cheaper by RM2 for lunch set which comes with the same items. One of the things that I love about the noodles here is the really sweet soup. Usually, Japanese noodles that I tasted has really bland tasting soup. Also, really traditional toppings like corns, seaweeds and a soft boiled egg was a big welcome that accompanied the noodle really well. Having tried the ramen and udon, I would say I prefered the ramen much more - with really springry texture. I wouldn't say it's the best noodles there, as I have tasted the 'springiest' noodle - a wanton mee stall in a morning market @ Kuchai Lama, surprisingly. Nevertheless, the texture of the noodles here are still good enough.

Really good piping hot gyozas that comes with the set. I felt that ordering the set is very much worth it as besids the gyoza, the set also comes with a glass of green tea; which costs around RM5++ on the menu.

Roasted Chicken Spaghetti with Cream Sauce (RM16.90) was ok, with great creamy consistency. I still prefered the Japanese noodles though.

Char Siew Pizza (RM23.90) is the bomb! I beg all of you who is reading this, must-please-really must order this! The star of it, the char siew has really good proportion of fat and lean meat. The bouncy char siew, accompanied with the sweet mayo atop tastes really good. ORGASM!

My favourite universal dish - burger! Kissaten's version of Teriyaki Pork Burger (RM10.90) passes my book of burgers regulation! Thick, layerful and full of sauces, the burger looks really appetizing with some egg yolk sauces dripping out. The pork burger patty also is tender and flavourful enough with great texture. There's also a Teriyaki Wagyu Pork Burger (RM18.90), aka the more premium meat which I have yet to tasted. Will be on my next must eat list!

Cheese Cake(RM6.90). The cheese cake was good enough, with fragnant cheese and chocolate base.

A total of RM118.30 for all the food abovel; share among 5 of us. A tad expensive for the amount but the quality made up for it. Will be returning!
